दाहोद में पीपीपी मॉडल पर तैयार हुए इस रेल कारखाने में 10 वर्ष में 1200 इंजन तैयार किए जाएंगे और भविष्य में उन्हें देश-विदेश में एक्सपोर्ट किया जाएगा। दाहोद में बने लोकोमोटिव इंजन को आगामी समय में 100 प्रतिशत मेक इन इंडिया की तर्ज पर बनाया जाएगा। इस लोकोमोटिव इंजन की विशेषता यह है कि ये 4600 टन के कारगो को वहन करने की क्षमता रखते हैं। इंजन में पहली बार चालक के लिए एसी तथा टॉयलेट रखे गए हैं। इसके साथ; दुर्घटना से बचने के लिए कवर सिस्टम पहले से ही लगाए गए हैं। दाहोद में 20 हजार करोड़ रुपए के खर्च से तैयार रेल कारखाने में आगामी 10 वर्ष में लगभग 1200 लोकोमोटिव इंजन तैयार होने वाले हैं। दाहोद में हाल में 4 इंजन तैयार हो रहे हैं। इन तमाम इंजनों पर ‘मैन्युफैक्चरिंग बाय दाहोद’ लिखा जाएगा।
स्थानीय अर्थव्यवस्था को मिलेगा वेग, रोजगार का माध्मय बनेगा
इस प्रोजेक्ट के चलते दाहोद सहित आसपास के क्षेत्रों में प्रत्यक्ष और परोक्ष रूप से 10 हजार लोगों को रोजगार मिलेगा तथा स्थानीय अर्थव्यवस्था को भी वेग मिलेगा।
इसके अतिरिक्त सबसे कम मूल्य के बिडर के रूप में उभर कर आई मल्टीनेशनल कंपनी को रेलवे इंजन के उत्पादन के लिए विभिन्न वस्तुओं की आवश्यकता पड़ेगी और इसके चलते पावर सेक्टर, इंजीनियरिंग सेक्टर की छोटी-बड़ी कंपनियों के लिए इन वस्तुओं की आपूर्ति करने का अवसर पैदा होगा।
