12 अप्रैल को पंजाब विजिलेंस ब्यूरो ने राज्य में भ्रष्टाचार के खिलाफ जारी मुहिम के तहत शनिवार को फिरोजपुर जिले के ममदोट पुलिस स्टेशन के एसएचओ इंस्पेक्टर अभिनव चौहान को 25,000 रुपए की रिश्वत लेते रंगे हाथों गिरफ्तार किया।
इस बारे में जानकारी देते हुए राज्य विजिलेंस ब्यूरो के एक आधिकारिक प्रवक्ता ने बताया कि सुरिंदर सिंह की शिकायत के आधार पर उक्त आरोपी को गिरफ्तार किया गया है। उन्होंने आगे बताया कि शिकायतकर्ता ने विजिलेंस ब्यूरो से संपर्क किया था और आरोप लगाया था कि आरोपी ने सिविल विवाद के निपटारे के लिए एक लाख रुपए की रिश्वत की मांग की थी।
प्रवक्ता ने आगे बताया कि इस शिकायत की प्रारंभिक जांच के बाद फ्लाइंग स्क्वॉड-1, पंजाब की विजिलेंस टीम ने जाल बिछाया, जिसके दौरान दो सरकारी गवाहों की मौजूदगी में शिकायतकर्ता से 25000 रुपए की रिश्वत की पहली किश्त लेते समय उक्त आरोपी को गिरफ्तार कर लिया गया।
इस सम्बन्ध में पुलिस स्टेशन, वीबी फ्लाइंग स्क्वायड-1 पंजाब, मोहाली में उपरोक्त आरोपी के खिलाफ मामला दर्ज किया गया है। आरोपी को कल सक्षम न्यायालय में पेश किया जाएगा। उन्होंने बताया कि इस मामले में आगे की जांच जारी है।
