खान मंत्रालय के सचिव वीएल कांथा राव ने मंत्रालय और काबिल के वरिष्ठ अधिकारियों की उपस्थिति में संसद मार्ग, नई दिल्ली में खनिज विदेश इंडिया लिमिटेड के पंजीकृत कार्यालय का उद्घाटन किया।
काबिल, खान मंत्रालय के अंतर्गत एक CPSE, NALCO, HCL और MECL एमईसीएल द्वारा गठित एक संयुक्त उद्यम कंपनी है, जिसे विदेशों में महत्वपूर्ण और रणनीतिक खनिज संपत्तियों की पहचान, खोज, अधिग्रहण और विकास का महत्वपूर्ण कार्य सौंपा गया है।
खान सचिव ने अपने उद्घाटन भाषण में कहा कि दिल्ली में काबिल के कार्यालय का उद्घाटन, भारत की खनिज सुरक्षा सुनिश्चित करने की दिशा में ठोस प्रयासों के एक नए युग का प्रतीक है। उत्कृष्टता के प्रति दृढ़ प्रतिबद्धता के साथ, काबिल मेक इन इंडिया, विकसित भारत और शुद्ध शून्य उत्सर्जन उद्देश्यों के अनुरूप महत्वपूर्ण और रणनीतिक खनिजों के क्षेत्र में भारत के विकास और आत्मनिर्भरता को आगे बढ़ाने में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाने के लिए तैयार है।
काबिल की यात्रा में एक महत्वपूर्ण कदम 15 जनवरी, 2024 को CAMYEN के साथ एक अन्वेषण और विकास समझौते पर हस्ताक्षर होना था। इस समझौते ने काबिल को अर्जेंटीना में पांच लिथियम ब्लॉकों के विशेष अन्वेषण अधिकार प्रदान किए, जो लिथियम, इलेक्ट्रिक वाहनों सहित विभिन्न उद्योगों के लिए आवश्यक बैटरियों के उत्पादन में प्रमुख घटक, की एक स्थायी आपूर्ति प्राप्त करने की दिशा में एक महत्वपूर्ण कदम है।
जी2जी समझौता ज्ञापन (खान मंत्रालय और डीएसआईआर के बीच) और बी2बी एमओयू (काबिल और सीएमओ के बीच) पर हस्ताक्षर करके भारत ऑस्ट्रेलिया के साथ भी सहयोगी बन गया है, जो लिथियम (विश्व का लगभग 47% शीर्ष उत्पादक) और कोबाल्ट (विश्व का लगभग 3% चौथा सबसे बड़ा उत्पादक) का अग्रणी उत्पादक है। लिथियम और कोबाल्ट की पांच परियोजनाओं का चयन किया गया है जहां परियोजना व्यवहार्यता पर काम किया जा रहा है।
नई दिल्ली में काबिल का पंजीकृत कार्यालय खुलना एक बड़ी उपलब्धि है, भारत की घरेलू आवश्यकताओं को पूरा करने के लिए आवश्यक खनिजों की निरंतर आपूर्ति सुनिश्चित करने हेतु यह काबिल के कुशल और तीव्र कामकाज की सुविधा प्रदान करेगा।
