भारत-फ्रांस संयुक्त सैन्य अभ्यास शक्ति के 7वें संस्करण की मेघालय के उमरोई में पूर्ण रूप से विकसित और आधुनिक विदेशी प्रशिक्षण नोड में शुरूआत हुई। यह सैन्य अभ्यास 13 से 26 मई 2024 तक आयोजित किया जाएगा।
संयुक्त अभ्यास के उद्घाटन समारोह में भारत में फ्रांस के राजदूत थियरी मथोउ और 51 सब एरिया के जनरल ऑफिसर कमांडिंग मेजर जनरल प्रसन्ना सुधाकर जोशी शामिल हुए। युद्धाभ्यास शक्ति एक द्विवार्षिक प्रशिक्षण कार्यक्रम है जो बारी-बारी से भारत और फ्रांस में आयोजित किया जाता है। इसका पिछला संस्करण नवंबर 2021 में फ्रांस में आयोजित किया गया था।
भारत की 90 कर्मियों वाली टुकड़ी का प्रतिनिधित्व मुख्य रूप से राजपूत रेजिमेंट की एक बटालियन के अलावा अन्य टुकडि़यों और सेवाओं के कर्मियों द्वारा किया जा रहा है। भारतीय नौसेना और भारतीय वायु सेना के पर्यवेक्षक भी इस अभ्यास का एक हिस्सा बनेंगे। 90 कर्मियों वाली फ्रांसीसी टुकड़ी का प्रतिनिधित्व मुख्य रूप से 13वीं फॉरन लिजन हाफ-ब्रिगेड (13वीं डीबीएलई) के कर्मियों द्वारा किया जाएगा।
शक्ति अभ्यास का मुख्य उद्देश्य संयुक्त राष्ट्र जनादेश के अध्याय VII के तहत उप पारंपरिक परिदृश्य में विविध क्षेत्र संचालनों के लिए दोनों पक्षों की संयुक्त सैन्य क्षमता को बढ़ाना है। संयुक्त अभ्यास में अर्ध-शहरी और पहाड़ी इलाकों में संचालनों पर ध्यान केंद्रित किया जाएगा। संयुक्त प्रशिक्षण से अर्जित किए जाने वाले उद्देश्यों में उच्च स्तर की शारीरिक फिटनेस, सामरिक स्तर पर संचालनों के लिए अभ्यास और परिष्कृत अभ्यास तथा सर्वोत्तम प्रथाओं को साझा करना भी शामिल है।
इस अभ्यास के दौरान अभ्यास कराई जाने वाली सामरिक ड्रील में एक निर्धारित क्षेत्र पर कब्जा करने की आतंकी कार्रवाई से निपटना, एक संयुक्त कमांड पोस्ट की स्थापना करना, एक खुफिया और निगरानी केंद्र की स्थापना करना, एक हेलीपैड/लैंडिंग साइट की सुरक्षा करना, छोटे दल की प्रविष्टि करना और निष्कर्षण करना, विशेष हेलिबॉर्न ऑपरेशन, घेरा और तलाशी अभियान के अलावा ड्रोन तथा काउंटर ड्रोन सिस्टम का उपयोग करना भी शामिल है।
यह शक्ति अभ्यास दोनों पक्षों को संयुक्त अभियान चलाने की रणनीति, तकनीक और प्रक्रियाओं में सर्वोत्तम प्रथाओं को साझा करने में सक्षम बनाएगा। संयुक्त अभ्यास से दोनों देशों के सशस्त्र बलों के कर्मियों के बीच अंतर-संचालन, सौहार्द और सौजन्यता को बढ़ावा देने में मदद मिलेगी। इस अभ्यास से दोनों मित्र देशों के बीच न केवल रक्षा से सहयोग का स्तर बढ़ेगा बल्कि द्विपक्षीय संबंधों को भी बढ़ावा मिलेगा।
