लोकतंत्र के महापर्व से पहले फरीदाबाद में 25 मई को होने वाले लोकसभा चुनावों के लिए शत प्रतिशत मतदान का संकल्प लिया गया। जिला निर्वाचन अधिकारी श्री विक्रम सिंह द्वारा की गई इस पहल में साढ़े आठ लाख लोग जुड़े।
सभी ने एक साथ अपने प्रतिष्ठानों, स्कूलों, कॉलेजों, कार्यालयों, आंगनवाड़ी केंद्रों, पंचायत घरों पर इकट्ठा होकर शत-प्रतिशत मतदान का संकल्प लिया। 18 वर्ष से ऊपर के नागरिकों ने मतदान का संकल्प लिया व स्कूली बच्चों ने लोगों को मतदान के लिए प्रेरित करने की प्रतिबद्धता दोहराई।
जिला निर्वाचन अधिकारी ने बताया कि इस अभियान के तहत सबसे ज्यादा औद्योगिक श्रमिक व कर्मचारी शामिल हुए तथा पांच लाख औद्योगिक श्रमिकों ने एक साथ इकट्ठा होकर 25 मई को मतदान करने की शपथ ली। इसके बाद जिला के तीन लाख से ज्यादा सरकारी व प्राइवेट स्कूलों के बच्चे इस अभियान में शामिल हुए। 33 हजार ऑटो चालक इस अभियान से जुड़े और सभी ने शत-प्रतिशत मतदान का संकल्प लिया।
19 हजार से ज्यादा स्वयं सहायता समूहों की महिलाएं, विभिन्न विभागों व पुलिस विभाग के 20 हजार से ज्यादा कर्मचारी, 1200 आंगनवाड़ी वर्कर और 1200 आशा वर्कर व एएनएम इस अभियान में शामिल हुई।
