भूतपूर्व सैनिक कल्याण विभाग के आउटरीच कार्यक्रम ‘समाधान अभियान’ के एक हिस्से के तहत सचिव (पूर्व सैनिक कल्याण) डॉ. नितेन चंद्रा ने सोमवार यानी 13 मई, 2024 को उत्तर- पूर्वी राज्य सिक्किम के सीमावर्ती क्षेत्रों का दौरा किया और पूर्व सैनिकों के लिए विभिन्न कल्याणकारी योजनाओं का जायजा लिया।
पूर्व सैनिकों की वित्तीय सुरक्षा को और अधिक सुदृढ़ करने के लिए एक बड़े कदम के रूप में सचिव ने राज्य सैनिक बोर्ड और जिला सैनिक बोर्डों को पूरे क्षेत्र में सामान्य सेवा केंद्र और प्रधानमंत्री जन औषधि केंद्र स्थापित करने का निर्देश दिया। इन केंद्रों का संचालन पूर्व सैनिक करेंगे।
डॉ. नितेन चंद्रा ने गंगटोक में सिक्किम के मुख्य सचिव वी.बी. पाठक से भेंट कर पूर्व सैनिकों के लिए कल्याण उपायों को मजबूत करने के रोडमैप पर चर्चा की। इस बैठक के दौरान इस बात पर चर्चा की गई कि राज्य बागवानी विभाग की सहायता से पूर्व सैनिकों के सहकारी समूहों को क्षेत्र में एवोकाडो, संतरे, कीवी और पैशन फलों की खेती के लिए प्रोत्साहित किया जाएगा।
भूतपूर्व सैनिक कल्याण विभाग के सचिव ने भारतीय सेना के 17 माउंट डिवीजन का दौरा किया और जीओसी मेजर जनरल अमित कबथियाल ने उनका स्वागत किया। इस दौरान सचिव ने ईसीएचएस पॉलीक्लिनिक, स्पर्श सुविधा केंद्र व सेवानिवृत्त सैनिक सुविधा केंद्र सहित विभिन्न रक्षा प्रतिष्ठानों का दौरा किया और लाभार्थियों के लिए उपलब्ध सुविधाओं का जायजा लिया। उन्होंने पूर्व सैनिकों के साथ बातचीत की और स्पर्श पेंशन, स्वास्थ्य देखभाल व उनके पुनर्वास सहित अन्य मुद्दों के बारे में पूछताछ की।
सुविधा अभियान के दौरान महानिदेशक (पुनर्वास) मेजर जनरल एसबीके सिंह ने पूर्व सैनिकों के कौशल व दक्षताओं को बढ़ाने और उनके पुनर्वास के लिए उद्यमिता मॉडल के लिए उपलब्ध विभिन्न कार्यक्रमों के बारे में विस्तार से बताया। समाधान अभियान के तहत पूरे क्षेत्र से बड़ी संख्या में पूर्व सैनिकों ने हिस्सा लिया, जहां उनसे संबंधित कई मुद्दों पर उन्हें सहायता प्रदान की गई।
