सशस्त्र बल चिकित्सा सेवा ने 18 अप्रैल 2024 को भारतीय प्रौद्योगिकी संस्थान कानपुर के साथ सहयोगात्मक अनुसंधान और प्रशिक्षण के लिए एक समझौता ज्ञापन पर हस्ताक्षर किए।
इस समझौता ज्ञापन पर सशस्त्र बल चिकित्सा सेवा के महानिदेशक लेफ्टिनेंट जनरल दलजीत सिंह एवं IIT कानपुर के कार्यवाहक निदेशक प्रोफेसर एस. गणेश ने हस्ताक्षर किए।इस समझौता ज्ञापन के तहत, AFMS और IIT कानपुर आपस में मिलकर दुर्गम इलाकों में सैनिकों के सामने आने वाली स्वास्थ्य समस्याओं से निपटने के लिए अनुसंधान करेंगे और नई तकनीक विकसित करेंगे।

IIT कानपुर आर्म्ड फोर्सेज मेडिकल कॉलेज में स्थापित आर्म्ड फोर्सेज सेंटर फॉर कम्प्यूटेशनल मेडिसिन, जोकि देश के मेडिकल कॉलेजों में अपनी तरह का पहला केन्द्र है, के लिए एआई डायग्नोस्टिक मॉडल विकसित करने हेतु तकनीकी विशेषज्ञता भी प्रदान करेगा। इस समझौता ज्ञापन के तहत संकायों के आदान-प्रदान, संयुक्त शैक्षणिक गतिविधियां और प्रशिक्षण मॉड्यूल के विकास की भी योजनाएं बनाई जायेंगी।

इस अवसर पर, लेफ्टिनेंट जनरल दलजीत सिंह ने बताया कि AFMS सैनिकों को उच्चतम स्तर की चिकित्सीय देखभाल प्रदान करने के प्रति समर्पित है और IIT जैसे राष्ट्रीय महत्व के संस्थानों के साथ सहयोग इस प्रतिबद्धता की दिशा में एक महत्वपूर्ण कदम है। प्रोफेसर एस. गणेश ने स्वास्थ्य संबंधी देखभाल में कम्प्यूटेशनल मेडिसिन और एआई जैसी उन्नत प्रौद्योगिकियों के अंतर-पेशेवर सहयोग एवं उपयोग की आवश्यकता पर जोर दिया।
