दिल्ली स्थित वीएमएमसी एवं सफदरजंग अस्पताल के डॉक्टरों ने चिकित्सा विज्ञान के क्षेत्र में ऐतिहासिक उपलब्धि हासिल करते हुए एक दुर्लभ जन्मजात हृदय रोग से पीड़ित वयस्क मरीज की दुनिया की पहली रोबोटिक एवी (एट्रियोवेंट्रिकुलर) वाल्व रिप्लेसमेंट सर्जरी सफलतापूर्वक पूरी की है। इस उपलब्धि को वैश्विक चिकित्सा जगत में भारत की आधुनिक सर्जिकल क्षमता और विशेषज्ञता का महत्वपूर्ण उदाहरण माना जा रहा है।
अस्पताल की निदेशक डॉ. कविता शर्मा के नेतृत्व में कार्डियोथोरेसिक एंड वैस्कुलर सर्जरी (सीटीवीएस) विभाग की टीम ने यह जटिल ऑपरेशन किया। सर्जरी का नेतृत्व विभागाध्यक्ष प्रो. (डॉ.) अनुभव गुप्ता ने किया।
मरीज दो अत्यंत दुर्लभ जन्मजात हृदय विकारों—कंजेनिटली करेक्टेड ट्रांसपोजिशन ऑफ द ग्रेट आर्टरीज (CCTGA) और डेक्स्ट्रोकार्डिया—से पीड़ित था। इन जटिल स्थितियों के कारण उसका एवी वाल्व गंभीर रूप से क्षतिग्रस्त हो गया था और हृदय की कार्यक्षमता लगातार प्रभावित हो रही थी।
ऑपरेशन से पहले विशेषज्ञों ने सीटी स्कैन के आधार पर हृदय का त्रि-आयामी (3D) मॉडल तैयार किया, जिससे असामान्य हृदय संरचना को समझकर सर्जरी की विस्तृत योजना बनाई गई। मरीज का हृदय दाईं ओर स्थित होने के कारण डॉक्टरों ने पारंपरिक तकनीक के बजाय बाईं ओर से रोबोटिक सर्जरी करने की नई रणनीति अपनाई।
छाती की हड्डी काटने के बजाय छोटे-छोटे चीरे लगाकर रोबोटिक उपकरणों और हाई-डेफिनिशन 3डी विजुअल सिस्टम की सहायता से वाल्व बदला गया। इस तकनीक से कम दर्द, कम रक्तस्राव, संक्रमण का कम जोखिम और तेजी से रिकवरी संभव हुई।
विशेषज्ञों का मानना है कि यह सफलता भारत के सरकारी अस्पतालों में विश्वस्तरीय रोबोटिक सर्जरी और अत्याधुनिक चिकित्सा सुविधाओं की बढ़ती क्षमता का प्रमाण है। साथ ही, यह उपलब्धि भविष्य में जटिल जन्मजात हृदय रोगों के उपचार और नई सर्जिकल तकनीकों के विकास के लिए महत्वपूर्ण आधार साबित होगी।
