शिक्षा मंत्रालय के स्कूली शिक्षा और साक्षरता विभाग के सचिव संजय कुमार ने दोनों देशों के बीच शिक्षा के विभिन्न क्षेत्रों में आपसी सहयोग पर रूसी संघ के उप शिक्षा मंत्री डेनिस ग्रिबोव के साथ बैठक की। बैठक में अपर सचिव, आनंदराव वी. पाटिल संयुक्त सचिव अर्चना शर्मा अवस्थी, अमरप्रीत दुग्गल, नीता प्रसाद, प्राची पांडे और मंत्रालय के अन्य अधिकारी भी उपस्थित थे।
संजय कुमार ने भारतीय शिक्षा प्रणाली की विशाल स्वरूप पर बल दिया और राष्ट्रीय शिक्षा नीति 2020 की मुख्य विशेषताओं पर प्रकाश डाला। उन्होंने यह भी उल्लेख किया कि राष्ट्रीय शिक्षा नीति की सिफारिशों के बाद कक्षा VI से कौशल शिक्षा के घटक को किस प्रकार से सम्मिलित किया गया है। उन्होंने अनुभवात्मक शिक्षा, नई मूल्यांकन प्रक्रियाओं, प्रतिभाशाली बच्चों के लिए नीतियों आदि पर बल देने का भी उल्लेख किया।
डेनिस ग्रिबोव ने रूसी शिक्षा प्रणाली की विशेषताओं पर प्रकाश डाला और उल्लेख किया कि कैसे विद्यार्थियों को उनकी पसंदीदा शिक्षा क्षेत्र, विशिष्ट ग्रेडिंग प्रणाली आदि पर मार्गदर्शन करने के लिए उनके मूल्यांकन पर विशेष बल दिया जाता है। उन्होंने भारतीय संस्थानों में रूसी भाषा सिखाने और शिक्षकों के आदान-प्रदान कार्यक्रम में भी रुचि दिखाई।
रूसी प्रतिनिधिमंडल ने अपने देश में राष्ट्रीय शिक्षा नीति 2020 में अनुशंसित मूल्य शिक्षा को लागू करने के लिए मार्गदर्शन मांगा और संजय कुमार से अमूल्य सुझाव प्राप्त किए। संजय कुमार ने उन्हें इसके लिए उचित सामग्री विकसित करने में राष्ट्रीय शैक्षिक अनुसंधान और प्रशिक्षण परिषद की भूमिका के बारे में जानकारी दी।
