मुख्यमंत्री ठाकुर सुखविंद्र सिंह सुक्खू ने शिमला के निकट चमियाना स्थित अटल इंस्टीट्यूट ऑफ मेडिकल सुपर स्पेशियलिटी में इन-पेशेंट डिपार्टमेंट (आईपीडी) सेवाओं का शुभारम्भ किया। आईजीएमसी शिमला में मरीजों की बढ़ती संख्या तथा बेहतर स्वास्थ्य सुविधाएं प्रदान करने के लिए गैस्ट्रोएंटरोलॉजी, न्यूरोलॉजी, एंडोक्राइनोलॉजी, नेफ्रोलॉजी, यूरोलॉजी तथा प्लास्टिक सर्जरी विभागों को आईजीएमसी से चमियाना सुपर स्पेशियलिटी अस्पताल में स्थानांतरित किया गया है। आगामी दो माह में कार्डियोलॉजी तथा कार्डियोथोरेसिक एवं वैस्कुलर सर्जरी (सीटीवीएस) सेवाएं भी इस अस्पताल में स्थानांतरित कर दी जाएंगी।
मुख्यमंत्री ने अस्पताल का निरीक्षण किया तथा अधिकारियों को मरीजों के लिए गुणवत्तापूर्ण स्वास्थ्य सेवाएं सुनिश्चित करने के निर्देश दिए। उन्होंने अस्पताल परिसर में अधिकारियों के साथ बैठक की तथा मरीजों को प्रदान की जा रही सेवाओं के बारे में जानकारी ली तथा आवश्यक सुधार हेतु निर्देश दिए। बैठक के दौरान मुख्यमंत्री ने लोक निर्माण विभाग को अस्पताल तक जाने वाली सड़क का और सुधार करने के निर्देश भी दिए तथा कहा कि मरीजों की सुविधा के लिए परिवहन सुविधाएं भी सुदृढ की जाएंगी।
ठाकुर सुखविंद्र सिंह सुक्खू ने कहा कि चमियाना अस्पताल काफी समय से निर्माणाधीन है, लेकिन इसे पूरा करने का कार्य वर्तमान सरकार द्वारा किया जा रहा है। उन्होंने कहा कि राज्य सरकार अपने संसाधनों से इस कार्य को पूरा कर रही है तथा निर्माण कार्य को पूरा करने के लिए 23 करोड़ रुपये की राशि स्वीकृत की गई है। उन्होंने कहा कि इस अस्पताल की क्षमता 337 बिस्तरों की है तथा इसमें उच्च स्तरीय ऑपरेशन थियेटर और कैथ लैब की सुविधा उपलब्ध है। आगामी छह माह में यह अस्पताल पूरी तरह से कार्यशील हो जाएगा।
मुख्यमंत्री ने कहा कि राज्य सरकार चमियाना अस्पताल के साथ-साथ सभी मेडिकल कॉलेजों और क्षेत्रीय अस्पतालों को आधुनिक तकनीक से अपग्रेड कर रही है, ताकि राज्य में ही मरीजों को विश्व स्तरीय सुविधाएं उपलब्ध हो सकें। इससे मरीजों का समय और पैसा भी बचेगा। उन्होंने कहा कि चमियाना राज्य का ऐसा पहला अस्पताल होगा, जहां रोबोटिक सर्जरी की सुविधा होगी तथा इसके बाद जिला कांगड़ा के टांडा अस्पताल में भी यह सुविधा उपलब्ध होगी।
राज्य सरकार द्वारा टांडा, हमीरपुर और नेरचौक स्थित मेडिकल कॉलेजों में 3 टेस्ला एमआरआई मशीनें स्थापित करने की प्रक्रिया जारी है, ताकि मरीजों को विशेष चिकित्सा सेवाएं प्रदान की जा सकें। आईजीएमसी में मौजूदा एमआरआई मशीन को शीघ्र बदला जाएगा।
मुख्यमंत्री ने कहा कि अस्पतालों में चिकित्सा सेवाओं को विश्व स्तरीय बनाने के दृष्टिगत राज्य सरकार आधुनिक तकनीक पर 200 करोड़ रुपये व्यय कर रही है।
स्वास्थ्य मंत्री डॉ. (कर्नल) धनी राम शांडिल, ग्रामीण विकास एवं पंचायती राज मंत्री अनिरुद्ध सिंह, स्वास्थ्य सचिव एम. सुधा देवी, अटल इंस्टीट्यूट ऑफ मेडिकल सुपर स्पेशियलिटी, चमियाना के प्रधानाचार्य बृज शर्मा और अन्य वरिष्ठ अधिकारी भी इस अवसर पर उपस्थित थे।
