भारतीय तटरक्षक बल ने 16 मई, 2024 को महाराष्ट्र के तट पर डीजल की तस्करी में लगे पांच सदस्यीय मछली पकड़ने वाले जहाज ‘जय मल्हार’ को पकड़ा है।
इस पर मछली के बाड़े में पांच टन बेहिसाब डीजल छिपा हुआ था, जिसकी कीमत लगभग 27 लाख रुपये है। इसके साथ ही, तलाशी के दौरान थोड़ी मात्रा में प्रतिबंधित मादक पदार्थ जब्त किया गया।
पकड़े गए जहाज को पुलिस, सीमा शुल्क और मत्स्य पालन विभाग द्वारा गहन पूछताछ के लिए मुंबई बंदरगाह पर लाया गया। आगे की जांच से पता चला कि चालक दल पहले ही समुद्र में मछुआरों को 5,000 लीटर ईंधन बेच चुका था।
यह सफल अभियान आईसीजी द्वारा समुद्र में डीजल तस्करी पर एक और महत्वपूर्ण कार्रवाई का प्रतीक है, जिसमें सिर्फ पिछले तीन दिनों में ही कुल 55,000 लीटर बेहिसाब डीजल जब्त किया गया है। आईसीजी ने समुद्री क्षेत्र में अवैध गतिविधियों से निपटने के लिए अपनी अटूट प्रतिबद्धता दोहराई, देश के समुद्री हितों की सुरक्षा और तटीय सीमाओं को सुरक्षित करने में त्वरित और समन्वित कार्रवाइयों के महत्व पर जोर दिया।
