20 जून, 2026 को अमलारेम सिविल सब डिवीज़न के साल भर चलने वाले गोल्डन जुबली सेलिब्रेशन के हिस्से के तौर पर, ऑफिस ने डिस्ट्रिक्ट टूरिज्म प्रमोशन सोसाइटी (DTPS), वेस्ट जैंतिया हिल्स के ऑफिस के साथ मिलकर “हर कदम एक हेल्दी कल की ओर” थीम पर एक ट्रेक फेस्ट ऑर्गनाइज़ किया। इस ट्रेक को सबडिवीज़न ऑफिसर वेवोटोलू केज़ो, IAS ने हरी झंडी दिखाई।
अमलारेम सब डिवीज़न के असिस्टेंट कमिश्नर के. राभा, सब डिवीज़नल मेडिकल एंड हेल्थ ऑफिसर (SDM&HO) डॉ. ए. खोंगला, टूरिज्म डिपार्टमेंट के रिप्रेजेंटेटिव और लोकल टूर गाइड दुइया ट्रेलब्लेज़र समेत कई लोग मौजूद थे।
शिलांग, जोवाई और राज्य के दूसरे हिस्सों से कुल 140 से ज़्यादा पार्टिसिपेंट्स ने ट्रेकिंग में हिस्सा लिया। इस ट्रेक ने राज्य के बाहर से भी टूरिस्ट को अट्रैक्ट किया।
ट्रेक का रास्ता एक पुराने रास्ते पर था, जिसका इस्तेमाल कभी हमारे पुरखे दावकी और बांग्लादेश जाने के लिए करते थे। यह रास्ता अमस्कर नदी और अमलमार गांव की जादुई जड़ों से होकर गुज़रता था।
डेस्टिनेशन पर ट्रेक के बाद एक छोटा सा प्रोग्राम रखा गया, जहाँ SDO वेवोटोलू केज़ो ने हेल्दी लाइफस्टाइल, फिजिकल फिटनेस और कम्युनिटी की भागीदारी को बढ़ावा देने में इस हाइक के महत्व पर ज़ोर दिया और सभी ट्रेकर्स के जोश के साथ हिस्सा लेने की भी तारीफ़ की।
डिप्टी डायरेक्टर ऑफ़ हेल्थ डॉ. आर. पोहसनेम, जो हाइक में शामिल हुए, ने ट्रेक पूरा किया। सभी ट्रेकर्स को हाइक सफलतापूर्वक पूरा करने पर सर्टिफिकेट दिए गए।
