@ पोर्ट ब्लेयर अंडमान एवं निकोबार
एक मेडिकल इवेक्युएशन अभियान में, भारतीय तटरक्षक जहाज, सी-428 ने 09 अगस्त, 2024 की सुबह पोर्ट ब्लेयर के मार्शल द्वीप ध्वज वाले पोत ओलंपिया जीआर से फिलीपींस के 39 वर्षीय चालक दल के सदस्य को सुरक्षित बाहर निकाला।
यह जहाज हल्दिया से इंडोनेशिया के लिए अंडमान – निकोबार द्वीप समूह की यात्रा पर था। इसी दौरान, इंजन कक्ष में काम करते समय चालक दल के एक सदस्य का बायां हाथ का अंगूठा बुरी तरह कुचल गया। जहाज के मास्टर ने 08 अगस्त, 2024 को 1608 बजे जहाज पर चिकित्सा आपातकाल के बारे में समुद्री बचाव समन्वय केंद्र पोर्ट ब्लेयर से संपर्क किया और भारतीय तटरक्षक बल से सहायता मांगी।
सूचना मिलने पर एमआरसीसी पोर्ट ब्लेयर ने तुरंत कार्रवाई की और जहाज को पोर्ट ब्लेयर की ओर जाने की सलाह दी। इस बीच एमआरसीसी ने पोर्ट ब्लेयर में जहाज और हेलीकॉप्टर से युक्त भारतीय तटरक्षक बल की खोज और बचाव इकाइयों को मेडिकल इवेक्युएशन के लिए तैनात रहने के लिए सतर्क कर दिया।
इसके बाद पोर्ट ब्लेयर से मेडवेक के लिए जहाज सी-428 को तैनात किया गया और इसने मरीज को पोर्ट ब्लेयर के एमवी ओलंपिया जीआर से सुरक्षित बाहर निकाला और उसे उसी दिन सुबह पोर्ट ब्लेयर लाया। इसके बाद, उसे पोर्ट ब्लेयर के जीबी पंत अस्पताल में भर्ती कराने के लिए सौंप दिया गया।
समय पर मेडिकल इवेक्युएशन के माध्यम से समुद्र में संकट में फंसे नाविकों की सहायता करने के प्रति भारतीय तटरक्षक बल की प्रतिबद्धता प्रमाणित होती है।
