14 अगस्त 2026 को मध्यप्रदेश की जेल एवं सुधारात्मक सेवाओं में बंदियों के आध्यात्मिक, मानसिक एवं सामाजिक पुनर्वास को निरंतर प्रोत्साहित किया जा रहा है। इसी क्रम में श्रावण माह के पावन अवसर पर केन्द्रीय जेल इंदौर में बंदियों द्वारा मात्र दो घंटे में सवा लाख पार्थिव शिवलिंग का निर्माण कर एक उल्लेखनीय उपलब्धि दर्ज की गई। इस आयोजन को ‘वर्ल्ड बुक ऑफ रिकॉर्ड्स, लंदन’ में दर्ज किया गया है।
केन्द्रीय जेल इंदौर में स्थापित शिवलिंग के पंचम वर्ष के उपलक्ष्य में 10 अगस्त 2026 को आयोजित इस विशेष कार्यक्रम का शुभारंभ महानिदेशक, जेल एवं सुधारात्मक सेवाएं, मध्यप्रदेश डॉ. वरूण कपूर के मुख्य आतिथ्य में हुआ। केन्द्रीय जेल इंदौर के मुख्य सभागृह में डॉ. वरूण कपूर एवं सौम्या कपूर ने प्रथम पार्थिव शिवलिंग का निर्माण कर सवा लाख पार्थिव शिवलिंग निर्माण महायज्ञ का विधिवत शुभारंभ किया।
इस आध्यात्मिक आयोजन में केन्द्रीय जेल इंदौर में निरुद्ध लगभग 1 हजार पुरुष बंदियों एवं 51 महिला बंदियों ने सामूहिक रूप से पार्थिव शिवलिंग निर्माण में सहभागिता करते हुए निर्धारित अवधि में सवा लाख पार्थिव शिवलिंग का निर्माण किया। बंदियों की सामूहिक सहभागिता, अनुशासन एवं श्रद्धा से संपन्न यह आयोजन जेल सुधार एवं पुनर्वास की दिशा में एक महत्वपूर्ण पहल के रूप में सामने आया।
आयोजन का प्रमुख उद्देश्य बंदियों को आध्यात्मिक गतिविधियों से जोड़कर उनके मानसिक स्वास्थ्य एवं आंतरिक शांति को बढ़ावा देना, सकारात्मक सोच विकसित करना तथा उनमें आत्म अनुशासन एवं मानवीय मूल्यों को मजबूत करना रहा। जेल प्रशासन द्वारा इस प्रकार की गतिविधियों के माध्यम से बंदियों को मुख्यधारा से जोड़ने और उनके व्यक्तित्व में सकारात्मक परिवर्तन लाने के निरंतर प्रयास किए जा रहे हैं।
इस अवसर पर जेल अधीक्षक दिनेश नरगावे, जेल उप अधीक्षक इन्दर सिंह नागर एवं संतोष कुमार लडिया, वरिष्ठ परिवीक्षा एवं कल्याण अधिकारी अभिषेक दांगी सहित जेल के अधिकारी-कर्मचारी उपस्थित रहे।
