मुख्यमंत्री ठाकुर सुखविंद्र सिंह सुक्खू ने डॉ. राजीव बंसल, डॉ. बासु सूद और डॉ. प्रभात मित्तल द्वारा लिखित पुस्तक ‘जेंडर पर्सपेक्टिव्स इन पब्लिक पॉलिसी एंड डेवलपमेंट’ का विमोचन किया।
लेखकों की सराहना करते हुए मुख्यमंत्री ने कहा कि जेंडर पर्सपेक्टिव्स का दायरा शिक्षाविदों तक ही सीमित नहीं रहना चाहिए बल्कि कार्यान्वयन विभागों को जेंडर समानता की परिवर्तनकारी क्षमता को पहचानते हुए जेंडर आधारित नीति और विकास को प्राथमिकता देते हुए अग्रणी भूमिका निभानी चाहिए।
उन्होंने कहा कि हमें जेंडर-संवेदनशील नीति और विधायी वातावरण को मजबूत करना चाहिए साथ ही जेंडर-समावेशी योजनाओं और बजट का समर्थन करना चाहिए। जेंडर समानता के प्रयासों को बढ़ावा देना चाहिए। जेंडर आधारित निर्णय लेने के लिए डेटा संग्रह और अनुसंधान में निवेश किया जाना चाहिए। लैंगिक समानता बेहतर और प्रगतिशील दुनिया बनाने में महत्वपूर्ण है।
