मुंबई सीमा शुल्क विभाग ने दो अलग-अलग मामलों में चार लोगों को गिरफ्तार कर तीन करोड़ 67 लाख रुपये मूल्य का तस्करी का सोना जब्त किया है।
इनमें से तीन आरोपी हवाई अड्डे पर दो दुकानों में काम करते हैं और कथित तौर पर तस्करी गिरोह के सदस्यों को हवाई अड्डे से सोना बाहर ले जाने में मदद कर रहे थे।
सूत्रों ने बताया कि गुरुवार और शुक्रवार की मध्य रात्रि को सीमा शुल्क अधिकारियों ने संदेह के आधार पर हवाई अड्डे पर ओसीएस समूह के कर्मचारी प्रदीप पवार को हिरासत में लिया। तलाशी के दौरान अधिकारियों ने पवार के पास से स्वर्ण चूर्ण से भरी थैलियां बरामद की।पूछताछ में पवार ने बताया कि उसे ट्रांजिट यात्रियों से यह खेप मिली थी और ये सोना मोहम्मद इमरान नागोरी नाम के व्यक्ति को सौंपना था। सीमा शुल्क अधिकारियों ने बाद में नागोरी को भी गिरफ्तार कर लिया।
अधिकारियों के अनुसार, नागोरी ने हवाई अड्डे के एक अन्य कर्मचारी अंशु गुप्ता का नाम बताया। अंशु गुप्ता ने नागोरी को ट्रांजिट यात्रियों से तस्करी की गई स्वर्ण चूर्ण से भरी चार थैलियां सौंपी थीं।अंशु गुप्ता को भी बाद में गिरफ्तार कर लिया गया। वह हवाई अड्डे पर एक रेस्तरां में सेल्स एसोसिएट के रूप में काम करती है।
