भारतीय नौसेना ने 24 से 25 जून 2025 तक नई दिल्ली में समुद्री सुरक्षा पर भारतीय महासागर नौसेना संगोष्ठी (IONS) कार्य समूह की बैठक (IWG-MARSEC) की मेजबानी की। इस कार्यक्रम में 13 IONS सदस्य देशों, ऑस्ट्रेलिया, बांग्लादेश, फ्रांस, भारत, केन्या, मोजाम्बिक, ओमान, रूस, सऊदी अरब, दक्षिण अफ्रीका, श्रीलंका, तंजानिया और थाईलैंड के प्रतिनिधि एक साथ आए।
IONS संरचना के प्रमुख कार्य समूहों में से एक के रूप में, IWG MARSEC संवाद, सहयोग और कार्रवाई योग्य परिणामों के लिए एक समर्पित मंच के रूप में कार्य करता है।
सहायक नौसेना प्रमुख (विदेशी सहयोग एवं खुफिया) रियर एडमिरल निर्भय बापना ने अपने मुख्य संबोधन में हिंद महासागर क्षेत्र (आईओआर) में क्षेत्रीय समुद्री सहयोग को बढ़ावा देने के लिए भारत की दृढ़ प्रतिबद्धता को दोहराया और समकालीन समुद्री सुरक्षा चुनौतियों का प्रभावी ढंग से समाधान करने के लिए बहुपक्षीय तंत्र की बढ़ती आवश्यकता पर जोर दिया।
दो दिवसीय कार्यक्रम के दौरान, प्रतिनिधियों ने क्षेत्रीय समुद्री सुरक्षा वास्तुकला को मजबूत करने के उद्देश्य से व्यापक विचार-विमर्श किया। चर्चाएँ सूचना-साझाकरण ढाँचों को बढ़ाने, समुद्री डोमेन जागरूकता (एमडीए) को आगे बढ़ाने और उभरते खतरों को कम करने के लिए सहयोगी दृष्टिकोण अपनाने पर केंद्रित थीं। कार्य समूह ने समन्वित और समय पर क्षेत्रीय प्रतिक्रियाओं को सुविधाजनक बनाने के लिए सामंजस्यपूर्ण परिचालन दिशा-निर्देशों और व्यावहारिक उपायों के निर्माण पर भी विचार-विमर्श किया।
बैठक के परिणामों से सदस्य नौसेनाओं के सुरक्षित और संरक्षित हिंद महासागर क्षेत्र को बनाए रखने के सामूहिक संकल्प को मजबूत करने में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाने की उम्मीद है।
