भारतीय महासागर जहाज सागर बृहस्पतिवार को पोर्ट विक्टोरिया, सेशेल्स पहुंचा, जो दक्षिण-पश्चिम हिंद महासागर क्षेत्र में चल रही परिचालन तैनाती में एक और महत्वपूर्ण उपलब्धि है। जहाज का आगमन मॉरीशस के एक विशेष आर्थिक क्षेत्र (ईईजेड) निगरानी मिशन के सफल समापन के बाद हुआ है, जिसे नेशनल कोस्ट गार्ड मॉरीशस के समन्वय में अंजाम दिया गया था।
जहाज का पोर्ट विक्टोरिया, सेशेल्स पहुंचने पर गर्मजोशी से स्वागत किया गया और रक्षा बलों के प्रमुख (सीडीएफ), सेशेल्स में भारत के उच्चायुक्त और रक्षा सलाहकार ने उसका स्वागत किया। बंदरगाह पर होने वाले इस दौरे में कई पेशेवर और सांस्कृतिक आदान-प्रदान होंगे, जिसमें बहुराष्ट्रीय चालक दल के सदस्यों के साथ क्रॉस-डेक यात्राएं, सीडीएफ और सेशेल्स रक्षा बलों (एसडीएफ) के वरिष्ठ अधिकारियों के साथ बातचीत और एक संयुक्त योग सत्र शामिल है।
इन कार्यक्रमों का उद्देश्य भारत और सेशेल्स के बीच रक्षा संबंधों और आपसी विश्वास को मजबूत करना तथा क्षेत्रीय समुद्री साझेदारों के बीच सहयोग की भावना को गहरा करना है।
उल्लेखनीय है कि आईएनएस सुनयना, जिसे आईओएस सागर के नाम से जाना जाता है, दक्षिण-पश्चिम हिंद महासागर क्षेत्र के 09 मित्र देशों के 44 नौसैनिकों से युक्त एक बहुराष्ट्रीय दल को लेकर रवाना हुई है। यह तैनाती क्षेत्र में सभी के लिए सुरक्षा और विकास (सागर) की भावना में क्षेत्रीय समुद्री सहयोग और क्षमता निर्माण को बढ़ावा देने के लिए भारत की प्रतिबद्धता का उदाहरण है।
इससे पहले जहाज ने दार एस सलाम (तंजानिया), नकाला (मोजाम्बिक) और पोर्ट लुईस (मॉरीशस) के बंदरगाहों का दौरा किया, जहां स्थानीय नौसेनाओं और समुद्री सुरक्षा हितधारकों के साथ मिलकर प्रशिक्षण लिया, सर्वोत्तम प्रथाओं का आदान-प्रदान किया और अंतर-संचालन और आपसी समझ को बढ़ाया।
यह जहाज शुक्रवार को पोर्ट विक्टोरिया से अपने अंतिम बंदरगाह माले, मालदीव के लिए रवाना होगा, जहां वह अपने सहयोगात्मक समुद्री सुरक्षा और क्षेत्रीय आउटरीच मिशन को जारी रखेगा।
आईएनएस सुनयना एक अत्याधुनिक सरयू श्रेणी की एनओपीवी है जो मध्यम और नजदीकी रेंज के गनरी हथियारों और मिसाइल रक्षा उपायों सहित आधुनिक इलेक्ट्रॉनिक युद्ध उपकरणों से सुसज्जित है। वह एक हेलीकॉप्टर भी ले जा सकती है, जो उसकी परिचालन और निगरानी क्षमता को बढ़ाता है।
