डिज़ाइनर कपड़े भाग्यश्री खादी फैशन सोसाइटी के साथ मिलकर लाए जा रहे हैं। ये कपड़े कोल्लम वीविंग सेंटर्स और नेदुंबना रेडीमेड गारमेंट यूनिट बना रही है। यह सेल जिले में खादी बोर्ड के तहत कोट्टाराक्कारा और कर्बला के गांव के वेलफेयर सेंटर्स के ज़रिए होगी। करुनागपल्ली म्युनिसिपल कॉम्प्लेक्स में खास मेले लगाए जाएंगे। खादी कपड़ों की खासियत यह है कि वे आसानी से गर्मी झेल सकते हैं।
मेले के हिस्से के तौर पर, सभी दुकानों पर खादी कॉटन, प्रिंटेड सिल्क, मनीला शर्टिंग, टर्बन सिल्क, रेडीमेड शर्ट, धोती, नए डिज़ाइन वाले चूड़ीदार टॉप, कुर्ती, कॉटन बेडस्प्रेड, तकिए, बेडशीट, कालीन, गांव के उद्योग के प्रोडक्ट जैसे शहद, तिल का तेल, चंदन का तेल, कॉस्मेटिक्स और हैंडीक्राफ्ट प्रोडक्ट मिलेंगे।
जिला खादी क्रिसमस-न्यू ईयर मेला 19 दिसंबर से 2 जनवरी तक चलेगा। मेले में खादी के कपड़ों पर 30% तक की छूट मिलेगी। सरकारी, सेमी-सरकारी और बैंक कर्मचारियों को 1 लाख रुपये तक की क्रेडिट सुविधा मिलेगी। लीडर शर्ट 1000 रुपये से, लेडीज़ टॉप 700 रुपये से और डिज़ाइनर कपड़े 1500 रुपये से मिलेंगे। क्रिसमस-नववर्ष खादी मेले का जिलास्तरीय उद्घाटन 19 दिसंबर को सुबह 11 बजे जिला खादी ग्रामोद्योग कार्यालय परिसर में निगम पार्षद टी. शाइनी करेंगे।
