पश्चिम बंगाल की राजधानी कोलकाता में एक छात्रा के साथ सामुहिक दुष्कर्म का मामला सामने आया था। इस मामले में पुलिस ने तीन आरोपियों को गिरफ्तार किया। साउथ कलकत्ता लॉ यूनिवर्सिटी के अधिकारियों ने छात्रा के साथ गैंगरेप के मामले में तीनों आरोपियों को यूनिवर्सिटी से निष्कासित कर दिया है। एक अधिकारी ने इस बारे में जानकारी दी है।
वहीं संस्थान से निष्कासित किए गए लोगों में मुख्य आरोपी मोनोजीत मिश्रा भी शामिल है जो कॉलेज में संविदा कर्मचारी था। मोनोजित मिश्रा के साथ ही दो अन्य आरोपियों जैब अहमद और प्रमित मुखर्जी को भी निष्कासित कर दिया गया है। दोनों यूनिवर्सिटी के छात्र हैं।
लॉ यूनिवर्सिटी की छात्रा के साथ गैंगरेप के मामले में पुलिस ने तीन आरोपियों को गिरफ्तार किया है। इन तीनों को पुलिस हिरासत में भेजा गया है जहां इन सभी आरोपियों से पुलिस की टीम पूछताछ कर रही है। मामले में तृणमूल कांग्रेस के विधायक अशोक कुमार देब की अध्यक्षता में महाविद्यालय के शासी निकाय की बैठक की गई। इस बैठक के बाद मोनोजित मिश्रा की सेवाओं को समाप्त करने और दो छात्रों को निष्कासित करने की घोषणा की गई।
टीएमसी विधायक अशोक कुमार देब ने कहा मिश्रा की सेवाओं को समाप्त करने का फैसला किया गय है वहीं दो छात्रों को तत्काल प्रभाव से निष्कासित कर दिया जाएगा। संस्थान परिसर की सुरक्षा के लिए नियुक्त सुरक्षा एजेंसी को भी कारण बताओ नोटिस भेजा जाएगा।
साउथ कलकत्ता लॉ यूनिवर्सिटी के कैंपस में छात्रा के साथ गैंगरेप की घटना के बाद से लोगों में आक्रोश व्याप्त है। इस बीच विपक्षी दलों की ओर से भी लगातार कार्रवाई किए जाने का दबाव बनाया जा रहा है। ऐसे में प्रशासन की ओर से यह कार्रवाई की गई है। यूनिवर्सिटी के उप-प्राचार्य के मुताबिक मोनोजित मिश्रा को करीब 45 दिन पहले ठेके पर नियुक्त किया गया था।
यूनिवर्सिटी के रिकॉर्ड के अनुसार मोनोजित मिश्रा पहले संस्थान का छात्र था और 2013 में उसने दाखिला लिया था। उस वर्ष कालीघाट थाने के तहत चेतला पुल पर एक युवक को चाकू मारने के आरोप के बाद उसे संस्थान से निकाल दिया गया था।
