जनता के प्रति पारदर्शिता और लोकतांत्रिक मूल्यों को सुदृढ़ करने की दिशा में एक ऐतिहासिक कदम उठाते हुए दिल्ली विधान सभा में स्पीकर गैलरी और प्रेस गैलरी को घेरने वाले काँच के पैनलों को हटा दिया गया है। यह महत्वपूर्ण निर्णय अध्यक्ष विजेंद्र गुप्ता के निर्देश पर लिया गया है ताकि सदन की कार्यवाही को अधिक खुलापन और पहुंच प्रदान की जा सके।
इस निर्णय का उद्देश्य उन भौतिक अवरोधों को समाप्त करना है जो विधानसभा की कार्यवाही के स्पष्ट अवलोकन में बाधा उत्पन्न कर रहे थे। अब मान्यता प्राप्त पत्रकार बिना किसी व्यवधान के सदन की कार्यवाही का प्रत्यक्ष और स्पष्ट रूप से अवलोकन कर सकेंगे जिससे समाचारों की सटीक और त्वरित रिपोर्टिंग संभव हो सकेगी।
अध्यक्ष विजेंद्र गुप्ता ने कहा मीडिया लोकतंत्र का चौथा स्तंभ है। उनके कार्य में कोई भी रुकावट या बाधा स्वीकार्य नहीं हो सकती। यह विधानसभा जनता की है और प्रेस की भूमिका जनता को सूचित रखने की है। विधानसभा की कार्यवाही में पारदर्शिता अनिवार्य है।
गुप्ता ने यह भी कहा कि पूर्ववर्ती सरकार द्वारा इन अवरोधों की स्थापना खुले शासन और प्रेस की स्वतंत्रता की मूल भावना के विपरीत थी। इन काँच के अवरोधों को हटाकर दिल्ली विधानसभा ने मीडिया को सशक्त बनाने और लोकतांत्रिक प्रक्रियाओं को जनदृष्टि में लाने के अपने संकल्प को पुनः स्पष्ट किया है।
यह पहल लोकतांत्रिक उत्तरदायित्व को मजबूत करने और विधानसभा को एक पारदर्शी जन-केंद्रित संस्था के रूप में पुनर्स्थापित करने की दिशा में एक महत्वपूर्ण कदम है।
