38 वें राष्ट्रीय खेलों के अंतर्गत चंपावत जिले के शारदा नदी में राफ्टिंग (डेमो) प्रतियोगिता का आयोजन सम्पन्न हुआ। अंतिम दिन सोमवार को विभिन्न प्रतियोगिताएं आयोजित की गई। प्रथम बार रात्रि में राफ्टिंग प्रतियोगिता का आयोजन कर विश्व रिकॉर्ड बनाया गया। समापन समारोह पर बतौर मुख्य अतिथि प्रदेश के मुख्यमंत्री पुष्कर सिंह धामी एवं उनकी धर्मपत्नी गीता धामी ने रात्रि में आयोजित राफ्टिंग प्रतियोगिता का अवलोकन किया तथा विश्व रिकॉर्ड के साक्षी बने। मुख्यमंत्री एवं गीता धामी ने समापन समारोह में विभिन्न प्रदेशों से आए विजेता प्रतिभागियों को मेडल प्रदान कर सम्मानित किया।
कार्यक्रम क्षेत्र (ग्राम उचौलिगोठ) के दो युवाओं की वाहन दुर्घटना में मृत्यु हो जाने के कारण राफ्टिंग प्रतियोगिता का समापन कार्यक्रम सादगी पूर्वक सपन्न हुआ। सभी सांस्कृतिक कार्यक्रमों को निरस्त किया गया। मृतकों की आत्मा की शांति के लिए 2 मिनट का मौन रखा गया। मुख्यमंत्री ने वाहन दुर्घटना में मृत दोनों व्यक्तियों के प्रति अपनी शोक संवेदना व्यक्त करते हुए दुःख जताया।
इससे पहले मुख्यमंत्री पुष्कर सिंह धामी ने अपने संबोधन में कहा कि उत्तराखण्ड देवभूमि के साथ ही वीर भूमि भी है। यहां देवों का वास होता है। यहां के प्रत्येक घर से औसतन एक व्यक्ति सैन्य बलों में रहकर अपनी सेवा दे रहे हैं। वह देश की रक्षा में अपना योगदान दे रहे हैं। मुख्यमंत्री ने कहा कि राष्ट्रीय खेलों के आयोजन से अब यह भूमि खेल भूमि के रूप में भी स्थापित हो गई है। मुख्यमंत्री ने कहा कि 38वें राष्ट्रीय खेलों में हमारे राज्य के खिलाड़ियों ने एक के बाद एक मेडल प्राप्त कर बेहतर स्थान बना लिया है।
उन्होंने कहा कि उत्तराखण्ड में राफ्टिंग के क्षेत्र में ऋषिकेश के साथ-साथ टनकपुर शारदा क्षेत्र भी अब विकसित हो गया है। यहां लगातार राफ्टिंग हो रही है, जिससे पर्यटन विकास बढ़ेगा। मुख्यमंत्री ने कहा कि टनकपुर को एक बड़े राफ्टिंग हब के रूप में विकसित किया जाएगा।
मुख्यमंत्री ने कहा कि प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी जी का कहना है कि 21वीं सदी का तीसरा दशक उत्तराखण्ड का होगा। उसी के अनुरूप आज उत्तराखण्ड हर क्षेत्र में आगे बढ़ा है। उन्होंने कहा कि मां शारदा ने जन्म जन्मांतर अपना आशीर्वाद यहां के लोगों को दिया है। आने वाले समय में यहां राफ्टिंग से लोगों को अनेक प्रकार से लाभ मिलने के साथ ही माँ शारदा का आशीर्वाद मिलेगा।
मुख्यमंत्री ने कहा कि राष्ट्रीय खेलों के आयोजन हेतु जो मूलभूत सुविधाएं राज्य में स्थापित हो गई हैं, उन सुविधाओं का लाभ हमारे युवाओं को खेलों के क्षेत्र में और आगे ले जाने में मिलेगा। मुख्यमंत्री पुष्कर सिंह धामी ने कहा कि राष्ट्रीय खेलों का आयोजन देवभूमि उत्तराखण्ड में होना बेहद गौरव और सौभाग्य की बात है। साथ ही राष्ट्रीय खेलों में राफ्टिंग (डेमो स्पोर्ट) प्रतियोगिता का चंपावत में होना और भी अधिक गौरव की बात है। उन्होंने कहा कि इन खेलों के जरिए चंपावत का पर्यटन के क्षेत्र में भी विकास होगा।
मुख्यमंत्री ने विजेता टीमों को मेडल पहनाकर सम्मानित किया तथा उनका उत्साहवर्धन किया। मुख्यमंत्री पुष्कर सिंह धामी ने कहा कि चंपावत में आयोजित राफ्टिंग (डेमो स्पोर्ट) प्रतियोगिता के आयोजन से जनपद को राष्ट्रीय व अंतरराष्ट्रीय स्तर पर एक नई पहचान मिलेगी।
उन्होंने कहा कि देव भूमि उत्तराखण्ड को खेल भूमि भी बनाने के लगातार प्रयास हो रहे हैं। उन्होंने कहा कि उत्तराखण्ड ने भी विभिन्न प्रतियोगिताओं में अपना परचम लहराया है। उन्होंने यहां आए सभी प्रतिभागियों को बधाई और शुभकामनाएं प्रेषित की। उन्होंने कहा कि जो प्रतिभागी मेडल प्राप्त नहीं कर सके, उनको भी मायूस नहीं होना चाहिए, बल्कि निरंतर प्रयास करते रहना चाहिए।
कार्यक्रम के दौरान जिलाधिकारी नवनीत पांडे, एशियन फेंसिंग एसोशिएशन के महासचिव राजीव मेहता, राज्य ओलंपिक संघ के महासचिव डीके सिंह, प्रशासक जिला पंचायत ज्योति राय, ब्लॉक प्रमुख रेखा देवी,अध्यक्ष नगर पालिका टनकपुर विपिन कुमार, चंपावत प्रेमा पाण्डे, बनबसा रेखा देवी, खटीमा रामू जोशी, पुलिस अधीक्षक अजय गणपति, मुख्य विकास अधिकारी संजय कुमार सिंह, अपर जिलाधिकारी जय वर्द्धन शर्मा समेत विभिन्न जनप्रतिनिधि, अधिकारी तथा खेल प्रबंधन के अधिकारी, गणमान्य नागरिक समेत स्थानीय जनता एवं प्रतिभागी उपस्थित रहे।
