मुख्यमंत्री ठाकुर सुखविन्द्र सिंह सुक्खू ने सोलन जिले के अर्की में आयोजित राज्य स्तरीय सायर मेले के समापन समारोह को संबोधित करते हुए प्रदेशभर के सीबीएसई स्कूलों में अगले तीन माह के भीतर 2,000 और शिक्षकों की नियुक्ति करने की घोषणा की। उन्होंने कहा कि जब राज्य सरकार ने कुछ माह पहले प्रदेश में 150 सीबीएसई स्कूल खोलने की घोषणा की थी, तो इस निर्णय का विरोध किया गया था। इन स्कूलों में शिक्षकों का चयन पूरी तरह योग्यता के आधार पर और बिना किसी सिफारिश के किया जा रहा है। उन्होंने कहा कि प्रत्येक सीबीएसई स्कूल में पांच से आठ शिक्षकों की नियुक्ति पहले ही की जा चुकी है तथा शेष पदों को भी शीघ्र भर दिया जाएगा।
मुख्यमंत्री ने कहा कि निजी स्कूलों में सीबीएसई शिक्षा काफी महंगी है, जबकि राज्य सरकार सरकारी स्कूलों में भी इसी स्तर की सुविधाएं कम खर्च में उपलब्ध करवाने के लिए प्रयासरत है।
मुख्यमंत्री ने किशाऊ बहुद्देश्यीय परियोजना से संबंधित समझौते का उल्लेख करते हुए कहा कि यह समझौता ऐसे समय में हुआ, जब दिल्ली, उत्तर प्रदेश और हरियाणा में पानी की कमी की आशंका जताई जा रही थी। उन्होंने कहा कि पूर्व सरकार ने समझौते की पूर्व निर्धारित शर्तों को स्वीकार कर लिया था। मुख्यमंत्री ने कहा कि भाजपा की सरकार होती तो हिमाचल प्रदेश की जनता पर 3,000 करोड़ से 5,000 करोड़ रुपये तक का अतिरिक्त आर्थिक बोझ पड़ सकता था तथा राज्य को 1,200 करोड़ से 1,500 करोड़ रुपये तक की संभावित वार्षिक आय से भी वंचित होना पड़ सकता था।
मुख्यमंत्री ने कहा कि उनका स्पष्ट मत है कि जिन राज्यों को पानी की आवश्यकता है, उन्हें ही विद्युत परियोजना की लागत भी वहन करनी चाहिए। उन्होंने कहा कि हिमाचल प्रदेश की जनता के सहयोग और दृढ़ संकल्प से अंततः राज्य के हित में शर्तों पर यह समझौता सुनिश्चित किया गया। उन्होंने कहा कि उत्तराखंड ने भी हिमाचल प्रदेश की तर्ज पर इसी प्रकार के समझौते की मांग की थी, लेकिन वह इसे प्राप्त नहीं कर सका।
