उत्तर भारत के कई इलाकों में शुक्रवार को आंधी-तूफान ने व्यापक तबाही मचाई। तेज हवाओं और गरज के साथ हुई बारिश से जनजीवन अस्त-व्यस्त हो गया। इस भीषण तूफान में अब तक कई लोगों की मौत की पुष्टि हुई है, जबकि कई अन्य घायल हुए हैं। मौसम विभाग ने चेतावनी दी है कि आज शनिवार को भी दिल्ली और आसपास के इलाकों में गरज-चमक के साथ बारिश और तेज हवाएं चलने की संभावना है।
दिल्ली और एनसीआर में शुक्रवार को सैकड़ों पेड़ उखड़ गए, बिजली के खंभे गिर गए और सड़कों पर जाम की स्थिति बन गई। इसके अलावा इंदिरा गांधी अंतरराष्ट्रीय हवाई अड्डे पर लगभग 200 से अधिक उड़ानें या तो रद्द की गईं या फिर घंटों देरी से चलीं, जिससे यात्रियों को भारी असुविधा का सामना करना पड़ा। 7 और 8 मई को भी बादल छाए रहेंगे और इस दिन भी बारिश होने की आशंका जताई गई है।
यह मौसम का बदलाव पश्चिमी विक्षोभ के कारण आया है, जिससे तेज़ हवाओं के साथ गरज-चमक और बारिश की स्थिति बनी हुई है। 3 मई को दिल्ली का न्यूनतम तापमान 19 डिग्री सेल्सियस जबकि अधिकतम तापमान 34 डिग्री सेल्सियस रहने का अनुमान है। आईएमडीद्वारा दिल्ली और आसपास के इलाकों में गरज-चमक के साथ बारिश और तेज हवाएं चलने की संभावना की व्यक्त जा रही है।
आगामी दिनों में भी मौसम का यही मिजाज बना रह सकता है। 4 मई से 6 मई तक हर दिन तापमान 35 डिग्री सेल्सियस तक पहुंचने की संभावना है और चेतावनी भी दी गई है।
अगले कुछ दिन राहत के नहीं होंगे सायद और जनता को सतर्क रहने की आवश्यकता है। प्रशासन ने भी लोगों से अपील की है कि वे खराब मौसम के दौरान घर के अंदर रहें, पेड़ों और पुराने भवनों के पास खड़े न हों और मौसम से संबंधित अलर्ट पर ध्यान दें। जिला प्रशासन और यातायात पुलिस को भी हाई अलर्ट पर रखा गया है।
