भारतीय तटरक्षक बल ने चक्रवात के आगमन को देखते हुए तूफान के दौरान व्यापारी बेड़े की सक्रिय निगरानी और रणनीतिक सुरक्षा सुनिश्चित करने के उद्देश्य से जहाजों, विमानों एवं तट-आधारित निगरानी प्रणालियों को तैनात किया। हल्दिया और पारादीप में भारतीय तटरक्षक बल के रिमोट ऑपरेटिंग स्टेशनों से समय-समय पर चेतावनी संदेश प्रसारित किए गए और मछली पकड़ने वाली नौकाओं एवं अन्य व्यापारिक जहाजों को आगाह किया गया।
